Collegium Internationale Allergologicum

The Collegium Internationale Allergologicum (CIA) was founded in 1954 by a group of the most distinguished physicians and scientists in medicine and the emerging field of allergy and clinical immunology.

From the beginning, the Collegium was intended to be an exclusive club of friends sharing the common pursuit of excellence in research in a spirit of the intellectual exchange. Article 1 of the CIA constitution sums this up most appropriately:

"The Collegium is an international group for the study of scientific and clinical problems in allergy and related branches of medicine and immunology. The collegium aims to promote the humble spirit of scientific enquiry, friendly cooperation, good fellowship and professional relationships in the field of allergy."
