accreditation

Executive Director, Inc. (EDI) is an American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Charter Accredited Association Management Company. ASAE is a 26,000 member organization representing professionals employed by non-profit associations and societies. We believe an association is best served when served by an accredited association management company.

ASAE AMC Accreditation means EDI adheres to the following standards:

  • EDI recognizes the unique missions, goals, structures, and needs of its association clients and uses its best efforts to meet those needs.

  • EDI operates ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • EDI accurately represents itself and its employees' expertise, experience, credentials, and services to the public.

  • EDI manages all client accounts and funds in compliance with accounting rules and regulations as promulgated by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).

  • EDI observes Federal tax requirements for maintaining the tax status of its clients.

  • EDI has written policies precluding co-mingling of assets among client associations or with assets of the AMC.

  • EDI discloses to clients all income received by commissions, finder's fee, and other sources related to that client.

  • EDI enters into written contracts with each association client stating, at a minimum, the services to be provided, fees and billing procedures, and the term and termination aspects of the contracts.

  • EDI ensures that employees are certified or qualified to provide services to clients when certification or a particular qualification is necessary to serve the client effectively.

  • EDI maintains bonding insurance to protect association clients against employee dishonesty.

  • EDI maintains comprehensive insurance policies in amounts reasonably sufficient to protect association clients, including but not limited to coverage for general commercial liability, property, valuable papers, money and securities, computer equipment and data, auto liability, workman's compensation, and errors and omissions. EDI also encourages clients to acquire appropriate officers and directors insurance.

  • EDI maintains full and accurate records of current and prior association clients, maintains the confidentiality of all association client records, data, proceedings, contracts, and other information, and maintains and provides a written confidentiality policy to all clients (either as part of or separate from the written contract with the client).

  • EDI investigates all potential conflicts of interest in their representation of association clients, avoids all conflicts of interest unless an express written waiver of such conflicts is obtained from all relevant parties, and maintains and provides a written conflicts of interest policy to all clients (either as part of or separate from the written contract with the clients).

  • EDI communicates regularly with their association clients to ensure that the AMC is providing all contracted services in an effective and efficient manner.

  • EDI ensures the integrity and confidentiality of each association client's relationship with its legal counsel, including but not limited to the protection of all privileges.
