Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)

The mission of CAOHC is to promote the conservation of hearing by enhancing the quality of occupational hearing conservation programs. Its purposes are to:

  • Provide education and information in occupational hearing conservation.
  • Provide standards and accreditation of personnel involved in occupational hearing conservation.
  • Promote quality assurance of occupational hearing conservation programs.
  • Promote awareness and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss.

Members: CAOHC is the certifying body for Occupational Hearing Conservationists (OHCs) and Course Directors. Currently there are over 22,000 OHCs and 379 Course Directors. Certified OHCs have grown by over 40% since 1994 and CAOHC Course Directors conduct over 500 certification/recertification courses annually.
