About ASMH: The American Society for Mohs Histotechnology (ASMH) was founded in 1995 as an ancillary group to the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (ACMMSCO). One of the requirements for membership in the ASMH is employment by an active ACMMSCO member or membership in the ACMMSCO. ASMH was formed provide a source of information to members about the new technologies and challenges related to Mohs surgery laboratories.

Mission: The following goals have been established for ASMH:

  1. To provide an interchange of ideas pertinent to histotechnology as it relates to Mohs micrographic surgery, often referred to as "Mohs histotechnology;"
  2. To advance professional growth, standards, knowledge and performance in Mohs histotechnology through continuing and formal educational programs;
  3. To create mutual understanding and cooperation between the Society, members of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology (ACMMSCO), other allied professionals and professional organizations and the public;
  4. To safeguard the standards of histotechnology for processing Mohs micrographic surgery specimens; and
  5. To encourage research in the field of Mohs histotechnology.

Members: ASMH has over 500 members, the majority of whom are medical technicians.
