Description: The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) is dedicated to advancing high standards of training and care within Mohs micrographic surgery. Mohs Micrographic Surgery is an advanced procedure for the treatment of skin cancer, particularly those cancers occurring on the face. Established in 1967, the ACMS was named after Frederic Mohs, MD, who developed the procedure and served as the first president of the College. Since that time there have been advancements in the procedure and the organization has grown to more than 850 members. Membership requirements of the ACMS state that physicians must have completed a one or two year fellowship program at an ACMS-approved training facility. This training includes participation in at least 500 Mohs micrographic surgery cases, under the supervision of an experienced, ACMS-approved Mohs surgeon. Members: 850 physicians from the United States and abroad who are trained in Mohs surgery and dedicated to the advancement of the procedure and the highest standards of patient care.
